Madhava Turumella is the Founder of Teluguvani Radio. He is passionate about Telugu culture. He serves UK Telugu community as a Trustee to United Kingdom Telugu Association. He is committed to Interfaith Harmony he is active in UK Interfaith activities serving as a board member for Interfaith Committee of HFB. He is also active in UK politics. How is Teluguvani Broadcasted?
Teluguvani Radio broadcasts Telugu content such as Music, talk shows and interactive voice, over Internet and also on all smart phones. In some of the European countries TeluguVani is broadcasted over FM/AM signals. In UK initially the owners of Teluguvani wanted to broadcast over AM/FM signals but unfortunately there are no more AM/FM signals available in UK to broadcast. However fortunately DAB Radio signals are available and we are in the process of obtaining license to broadcast signals over DAB.
About the Music Broadcasted on our Radio
TeluguVani is NOT a 100% CINI MUSIC Radio. TeluguVani broadcasts very few movie songs. In this digital age, people hardly ever come to a Radio station to listen to movie music. Besides there are ample number of sites, such as YOUTUBE and Raaga.com that promote pure music and also allow download. So in TeluguVani we are aiming to promote Telugu Culture and forgotten arts in Telugu, such as Folk songs, light music, mimicry etc.,
We run promotional cini music so that our listeners know which movies are going on. We don’t allow any download of this music. Having said all this, Owners of Teluguvani strongly believe in the rights of the Music creators. Teluguvani obtained ‘PRS License‘ in UK to Broadcast only. We also have signed MOUs with music companies. For example we have permission from ”Madhura Audios”, second largest music production company in AP, to play their music on our TeluguVani Radio.
We try our best to protect the legal rights of the music creators. And Teluguvani is committed to take immediate action to remedy in case we are alerted about any copyright violations.
How does Teluguvani Keeps in touch with the Telugu Community?
Telugu vani radio is aimed at serving mainly Telugu speaking people, an estimated 120000, living in European nations including UK. There is a very strong Telugu community in UK with an estimated 52000 people. Many of them are successful in their professions. There are Doctors, Lawyers and Engineers and contributing to the success of UK economy.
Even though ‘Teluguvani’ is a private venture, its creators would like the Radio to reflect the heart of the community. Hence Telguvani is mainly run with the active consultation of two distinctive groups:
(A) Honorary Advisory Board of Directors (B) Honorary Creative Board of Directors
Honorary Advisory Board of  Directors:
Members of this board are exclusively invited to be on board on the sole discretion of the Business Owners of Teluguvani. Advisory Board of Directors are Telugu Community leaders who have contributed their personal time and energy for the welfare of the community. Teluguvani Owners periodically consult with them month to find the community pulse and to get the right direction. Advisory Directors help Teluguvani Owners to fine tune the Radio Offering. They also function as Ambassadors between the Telugu Community and Teluguvani. They influence the content that is broadcasting on Teluguvani. The following are our Advisory Board members.
1) Dr. Madina Ramakrishna
Ramakrishna Madina, currently consultant psychiatrist in Southyorkshire.Served as chair of the British Indian Psychiatric association,General secretary of the European Telugu Association&Telugu examiner of Cambridge University languages division.Acted in tollywood and telugu tv serials.Dramatist,writer and poet and actively engaged in telugu literary activities.
2) Ramanaidu Boyala
B. Rama Naidu is community organisor and founder general secretary and chairman of Telugu Association of London. Studied in Andhra University in Andhra Pradesh and subsequently migrated to middle east (Kuwait) where he associated with Telugu Kala Samithi until he moved permanently to the UK in 2001. In India he associated with literary and cultural organisations from college days. He produced his peotry anthology titled ‘Ayudham Amma’ in 1997. His enjoys reading, theatar, films, music and gardening. He is currently working in a multinational company working as immigration advisor. He livies with his wife and two children in London.
3) Mr. Prabhar Kaza
Prabhakar Kaza was a career-officer in State Bank of India. He was posted in the UK, as General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of SBI, UK in 2002. After serving his term took early retirement from the Bank to settle down in the country. He is the founder-president of United Kingdom Telugu Association.

Sri Harigopal is a retired GP. He is the son of famous Sardar Sri Jamalapuram Keshava Rao. Sri Harigopal is very active in Telugu community. He is the Founder and force behind Birmingham Srirama Navami Celebrations. http://www.sriramanavami.co.uk/ More than 2000 Telugus every year assemble in Birmingham to celebrate Sri Rama Navami festival. This festival is uninterruptedly going on for the last 15 years. Sri Harigopal is a stand-up comedian, very famous for his jokes. He is also a good Literary critique.
Bheemanna Pulla is an IT consultant by profession. He is passionate about Telugu literature and culture. He is founder President of MATA (Mana Telugu Association, Manchester,UK). He started a Telugu school MAA BADI in Manchester with main aim to pass on the Telugu literature and culture to the next generation. He also started a Telugu library in Manchester. He is started Telugu IT facebook group called TeluguITsUK to provide information about the IT jobs in UK. He is also famous for his stand-up comedy.Honorary Creative Board of Directors
Members of this board are exclusively invited to be on board on the sole discretion of the Business Owners of Teluguvani. Creative Board of Directors are very highly talented individuals. They are celebrities pre-recognized for their talent in the Telugu community. They come up with creative ideas and influence ‘Teluguvani Broadcasting Staff’ on the content that is offered. Following are our Creative Board of Directors:
Mahesh Kumar (39years) living in Britain since a decade,hails from a highly academic and socio-politically vibrant family from Guntur District of Andhra Pradesh. His wife is a Neuro-Rehabilitation Specialist in NHS and a native of Warangal District,Telangana and they are blessed with two children. He is working in UK as a Specialist Practitioner in Directorate of Rehabilitation,National Health Services since 2002. He is one of the founding members and currently serving as Vice Chairman of Telugu Association of London(www.taluk.org) A UK registered charity serving Telugu people in London since 2005. He is very active in community service,cultural activities,student politics and employee unions through out his career. Â Here in Britain, he joined Labour party in 2005 and rouse to the position of Vice-Chairman of the CLP in 2009-2010 and he is a Local Governing Council member and also elected as the Secretary, Black and Asian Multi-Ethnic minorities in 2011 in Labour Party. Mrs Vinjamuri Ragasudha is an International Travel Consultant by profession and is currently a Senior Lecturer in Travel and Tourism Management in London. She hails from the illustrious family of artistes and achievers and is culturally quite active in the UK. Her father late Sri Vinjamuri Seshacharyulu is a well-known philanthropist and a patron of literature and arts.
Her poems, articles and short stories are published in Teluguone.Com, Koumudi web magazine, TANA Patrika, Swati magazine and Vajram Newspaper & local publications in the UK.
She is a part of the Creative Board of Directors of Telugu Vani radio and will also be a presenter of some programs. [More...]
Dr. Murthy Jonnalagadda is an Anesthetist. He is a Telugu Poet, Story writer, Drama Artist and a Director.

4) Kalyani
Kalyani is a Computer systems Validation Specialist in the Pharmaceutical Industry and a Professional Singer in United Kingdom. Kalyani learnt music from a very young age and started performing when she was very young. She learnt carnatic music from Dr Pantula Rama who is a renowned Carnatic musician. Kalyani won many prizes for singing when she was young and also performed in All India Radio. After moving to United Kingdom she pursued her interest in music and many other cultural activities. She performed for TV channels and she regularly performs as an anchor and singer for many Live bands, Djs and her own Karaoke set up all over UK. She has also acted in plays and won accolades for her acting skills. She sings songs in telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Gujarati. She teaches music to many children and adults. She is the cultural secretary for a local telugu organisation. She is full of life and gets the audience into the mood with her performances and her mesmerising voice. She al so had a keen interest in the Fashion world and won beauty pagents in India and participated in many fashion shows. She is now going to be hosting programmes on Telugu Vani Radio mainly targetting the younger generation but also with a vision to entertain the older generation some devotional music.
5) Mrs. Hema Macherla, Writer
Hema Macherla published 25 short stories and some articles in various Telugu magazines in India. She wrote several poems, short stories for anthologies and two novels, BREEZE FROM THE RIVER MANJEERA & BLUE EYES in English, published by ‘Linen Press’ www.linenpressbooks.co.uk Her first novel was short-listed for ch.4′s Richard & Judy Novel writing competition as one of 26 out of 44,000 entries. Hema also won a ‘National Reading Hero’ award received by Mrs. Sarah Brown at 10, Downing Street, UK in 2008. She also collected second prize for ‘Big Red Read’ in 2009. Currently her books are being translated in French by a well-known French publisher. Hema is interested in reading and writing from an early age. The person who inspired her to write was her mother Mrs. Lalita Katrepalli. Hema lives in London,UK with her family.
